Q. What should I do if the HotSync process does not begin after tapping the Star icon on my Palm™ handheld?
A. Make sure your handheld is on, and then try the following:
- Tap the Home icon.
- Locate and tap the HotSync icon.
- In the HotSync application, make sure of the following:
- Your username (established when you installed Palm™ Desktop software) appears in the upper-right corner.
- Local option is highlighted. If it is not highlighted, tap on Local.
- The phrase Cradle/Cable appears, tap on drop down arrow, and then tap Cradle/Cable in the list.
- To start the HotSync process, tap the HotSync icon in the middle of the handheld screen.
Q. How do I use the Keylock activation feature to preserve battery charge on my Palm™ handheld?
A. Your Palm™ handheld is equipped with the Keylock Activation feature to prevent the device from accidentally being turned on (while in your pocket for example) and thereby preserving the battery charge.
To access the Keylock Activation settings, follow these steps:
- Turn on your Palm™ handheld
- Tap on the Preferences icon
- Tap on Keylock located in the General section
- Tap on either Automatic or Manual to activate the Keylock functions
Q. What is a Device ID or Device Code and where do I find it?
A. The Device ID (or Device Code) is displayed on the unlock screen when you first open the product on your handheld (if the product requires an unlock code).
- Note: Device IDs and Device Codes are unique for each handheld device.
Q. How do I remove an application or program from a Palm™ handheld?
A. To remove an application or program from your Palm™ handheld, follow these steps:
- Go to the home screen on your Palm™ handheld. The home screen is the one which has all the program icons.
- Click on the Menu icon (this is the icon on the bottom left of your handheld, next to the Graffiti box).
- From the "App" menu which pops up, select "Delete." This will launch the Delete screen, listing all the products installed on the handheld.
- Select the product you want to delete and then click the "Delete" button.
Q. How do I upload a document to my PDA
A. To Upload Word / Excel / PowerPoint documents to Palm One™ device, follow these steps:
- To upload documents, you should have the quick install or the "Documents to Go" software installed in your PDA/computer. (This software is on the CD that came with the PDA.)
- Once the "Documents to Go" software is on your desktop/laptop, you must synch with your PDA to install the software there.
- When you open Palm One for Desktop on the desktop/laptop, you will see an icon which says "Documents to Go" in the bottom left corner.
- To upload the documents to the PDA, click on this icon, select the document that you want and perform the HotSync.
- You can see all the documents on the PDA under "Documents to Go" folder.

Q. What should I do if the Skyscape software on my iTouch/iPhone doesn't respond?
A. Follow these steps:
- Reset iTouch / iPhone settings. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but no data or media is deleted.
- If that doesn't work, erase the Skyscape Application by touching and holding any home screen icon until the icons begin to wiggle. Remove the application and reinstall it by following the onscreen instructions.
- If that doesn't work, Restore iTouch / iPhone by following these steps:
- Connect iTouch / iPhone to your computer.
- Select iTouch / iPhone in the iTunes sidebar and click the Summary tab.
- Click Restore to restore the device. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the restore process. All the data stored on your iTouch / iPhone is deleted. Reinstall Skyscape application.
