Storify.com
What it is
An online tool that gives you a way to create "social stories" by pulling together media and content from across the web. It is rapidly becoming a popular tool for content curation.
How it works
Go to Storify.com and create a free account. Click "Create Story" to open the Storify Editor. In the Editor, you can search a variety of sources on topics or keywords, including:
- Storify
- Facebook
- Twitter
- YouTube
- Flickr
- Instagram
- Google Search / Google+
- Add your own URL to search
You drag and drop snippets of content that comes up in your searches into your "story," adding a headline, a description and comments as you wish. You can save your stories, publish them to Storify.com and share them on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn or via email.
Ways to use it
The main point of Storify is to pull media together and add a context to tell your organization's stories. You might use Storify for compiling content into a single article for your website, blog or social media channel. People are using it creatively in a number of other ways. For example, you might use it to create media-rich tutorials for staff (you can combine all sorts of media, including text, images and video). You could pull together a list of Must-Read or Must-Watch (or both) items.
How much it costs
It's free, but you do have to create an account to login and use the tool.
