What it is

A free conference calling service for anyone to use.  You have the option to schedule your call in advance using the Web-Scheduled Standard service or you can put together a conference call at a moment's notice using the Reservationless Standard service.

How it works

Visit www.conferencecall.com and choose Sign Up from the navigation menu on the left.  On that page, you have the option to create an account (which you will need if you want to schedule conference calls) or to continue as a guest (which gives you instant access to a free conference call room).

As with other conference calling services, you'll receive a dial-in number and access code that you will then share with the people you invite to the conference call.

How to use it

Conference calls can be a great way to increase efficiency and decrease costs.  If you need to schedule a meeting, it's good to ask yourself "could this meeting be accomplished via conference call?"

How much it costs

The Web-Scheduled Standard and Reservationless Standard conferencing services are free, but the services DO NOT come with a toll free dial-in number.  Individuals calling into the conference should expect to pay the normal domestic long distance rate their phone carrier charges.

Basic conference calling under these two services are free.  If you want to record your calls or need more advanced features, there are fees involved.
