In addition to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Robert Morris University meets the standards set by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) stemming from the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLB Act) as related to the administrative, technical and physical safeguarding of customer information.

All personal student information is deemed to be confidential in nature. Only those Robert Morris employees with a business need to access non-public personal information may do so. Employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of student information as stated in the Human Resources policy manual.

Robert Morris uses advanced technology and information management techniques to implement security programs designed to protect the confidentiality and security of the information technology systems.

Under certain circumstances, customer information may be disclosed to third parties that perform services on our behalf. We require these third party servicers to maintain the same security standards.
