The University recommends the following types of computers:

Windows 7 - Recommended Configuration

• At least a 2.0 GHz dual core processor
• At least 2 GB memory
• 80 GB or larger hard drive
• Support for DirectX9 graphics
• 256 MB of graphics memory
• Any 10/100 Ethernet adaptor
• Windows 7 Home Premium or higher operating system
• Anti-Virus Software (Resident Students - Download for free)
• Any 802.11 a/b/g/ or n wireless adaptor (RMU IT recommends the "n" wireless adaptor)
• Hardware protection plan or extended warranty
• A laptop would be strongly recommend for portability.

MacBook Pro Recommended Configuration
(Apple computers are recommended for students in the Media Arts degree program)

• Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or higher processor. (Core i3, i5, i7 are all fine.)
• At least 2 GB of memory
• 250 GB or larger 7200 rpm hard drive
• Mac OS X Snow Leopard
• Microsoft Office Mac 2008 - Home and Student Edition
• Apple-Care Protection Plan is highly recommended.
• Anti-Virus Software (Resident Students - Download for free)

New iMac/Desktop Recommended Configuration
As of 9/8/2010, any shipping iMac model is recommended. The base model includes:

• Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 with 256 MB
