Tailoring Technology Education to Nonprofits

The Need - In order to thrive in a time of economic restraint and increased human needs, nonprofits must master their technology. Limited resources make it difficult to learn to understand, maintain or plan for technology much less use it to further vital missions. Technology training at the Bayer Center is designed to fill these gaps.

Our Approach - Technology instruction from the Bayer Center provides:

  • 'accidental' techies a solid technology foundation
  • leaders the framework to make sound technology decisions
  • staff the skills to be more effective and efficient in daily nonprofit tasks.

Our Team - Classes are taught by Bayer Center staff, contract trainers, and volunteer who have been selected for their effective and engaging manners and their understanding of nonprofit needs.

Your Place or Ours? - The Bayer Center's Dell Inspiron mobile laptop lab can be networked wirelessly. This allows the lab to move where it's needed: everywhere from a victim service agency on the South Side to a community workshop in Monessen. If you can assemble a class of at least six individuals, the Bayer Center will bring the lab to you!

Some examples of training we have customized for organizations:

  • MS PowerPoint
  • MS Outlook
  • Web Mail Usage
  • File Management
  • MS Excel
  • Technology Policies
