Internet Access and Wireless Zones
Each resident hall room on campus has at least one ethernet port that provides students with high speed Internet access. Additional ethernet ports are available in study and common areas.
There are wireless zones on both the Moon and Pittsburgh campuses in the coffee shops, dining areas and in the libraries. The Moon campus also has wireless zones in the Student Center, most classroom building common areas and Joe Walton stadium and at the Island Sports Center.
Computer Labs
Both campuses have general computer labs and specialized labs. General labs are a great place to check e-mail, work on projects, meet with a project team or print class assignments. Specialized labs support the unique learning experiences of RMU's academic schools and are equipped with curriculum-specific software, computers and hardware.
Anti-virus Software
Anti-virus software for PCs is free and can be downloaded by students from the RMU website. All resident students are require to have active anti-virus software installed on their conmputers.
Remote Computer Lab Access
Software in the computer labs is accessible for enrolled students to access from their personal computers through the University's remote access services.
eServices
Students can perform many common administrative tasks over the Internet by using eServices. This includes registering for classes, checking e-mail, course planning, use of library resources or adding funds to a Freedom Card.
Technical Support
Students have access to the RMU Help Desk by phone, e-mail or drop-in. The Help Desk is located in Hale Center, a centrally located classroom building. A resident hall support team called ResNet is based on the first floor of Madison Hall.
