Moon Township, Pa., July 24, 2008 – Nothing Unexpected, a band fronted by Robert Morris University (RMU) student Adam Dvorsky, will perform Saturday, Aug. 9, during the New American Music Union, a festival headlined by the legendary Bob Dylan.
The two-day festival, which gets underway Friday, Aug. 8, takes place at Pittsburgh’s SouthSide Works in the parking lot near McCormick & Schmick's on Sidney Street. It is sponsored by American Eagle Outfitters.
The event will feature 15 of the nation’s best college bands in addition to top national artists including The Raconteurs, Gnarls Barkley and The Roots. RMU is the only Pittsburgh-area university represented in the college band line-up, which was selected by American Eagle employees and customers.

Dvorsky, a senior business management major from Irwin, Westmoreland County, is the lead singer and guitarist for Nothing Unexpected, a band he formed with three fellow graduates of Norwin High School. The band received an invitation to perform at the festival through its MySpace page.
“It’s awesome getting to play on the same bill with those big bands,” said Dvorsky.

The college band performances will be judged by panels comprised of music industry experts, journalists and fellow musicians, and the winning band will receive a full-day session in a top Los Angeles recording studio – which is valued at $10,000. American Eagle also will support the winning band by promoting its recording on its website and in its stores across the country.
Nothing Unexpected and the other college bands will perform on the festival’s second stage starting at 11 a.m. Their performances are free. Tickets for the main stage are sold out. For more information, go to http://www.ae.com/web/77e/music/festival/index.jsp.
