RMU Students "Balancing Out Hunger"

Pittsburgh -- Students at Robert Morris University can battle hunger by donating unused meal plan dollars to purchase food for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Meal plans expire at the end of each semester, and the remaining balance does not get refunded. For the duration of the semester, when students purchase food with their meal plan, they can designate an amount of their choosing to be deducted from the remaining balance to buy food for the food bank.

The Sentry newspaper staff and the Society for Collegiate Journalists are organizing the project, dubbed "Balancing out Hunger," which was spearheaded by communications majors Ryan Shaffer, a junior; Jeremy Harris,  a senior; and Sean Whitfield, a junior.
