Moon Township, Pa. -- The School of Business at Robert Morris University (RMU) welcomes Court Gould, the executive director of Sustainable Pittsburgh, as the speaker at this fall's Speaking of Business luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh.

Registration and networking gets underway at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served at noon and Gould will speak at 12:30 p.m. The event is part of the Homecoming week celebration at RMU. To register online, go here. Tickets cost $45.

Gould's talk is titled "Business Innovation for Sustainability: Beyond Corporate Environmental Responsibility." Sustainability is being brought to fore by all types of companies, organizations and governments for a variety of reasons. Foremost is the promise and profits of doing well by doing right. Sustainable business practice is paying off as consumers, markets, employees and investors line up to favor companies that are good stewards of people, community, the environment and the bottom line. There is a remarkable shift now occurring among businesses that recognize the benefits to be gained by innovating for sustainability. This new industrial revolution goes beyond environmental responsibility and is not just about compliance..

Sustainable Pittsburgh is a public-policy advocacy group that helps the Pittsburgh region intergrate economic prosperity, social equity and environmental quality by bringing sustainable solutions to communities and businesses.
