RMU Island Sports Center to Host Songwriter Girl Camp

Moon Township, Pa. –– Robert Morris University (RMU) will host the inaugural Songwriter Girl Camp, Oct. 17–19 at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island.

Girls of all ages from across the region are encouraged to come and learn the art of songwriting from Kristi Manna, who wrote the hit songs “Austin” for Blake Shelton and “Loud” for Big and Rich.

The event will feature unique workshops in which girls will learn from people who create and work in the music industry. On Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m., all participants as well as the general public are invited to the Songwriter Girl Café, where five writers from the camp will be selected to perform a song for a panel of industry judges. The winning song will receive a fully produced demo.

A Songwriter Girl Camp three-day pass is $248 for participants and $75 for observers. For more information contact Kristi Manna at (615) 847-8214, kirsti@songwritergirl.com, or visit myspace.com/songwritergirlsite.
