Moon Township, Pa. -- Forget Panama City. This Spring Break, hop across the pond for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London, England.
This spring, the Office of International Programs and Services in collaboration with the English Studies and Communication Skills Department and Regent’s American College of London, is offering RMU students an exciting study tour of this historic city. The London Study Tour is an excellent experience to add to your Student Engagement Transcript (SET).
During the program, students will experience British culture and its rich history, customs and traditions. London is the crown city of Europe, with more fascinating tourist attractions than any other city in the world. Students will visit a number of historic sites including the Tower of London, Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, The British Museum, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and some of London’s legendary theaters. Other attractions on the trip include a Thames River Cruise; a trip to Bath, England to observe its Roman and Georgian Heritage; and two theater performances of either “Mamma Mia,” “We Will Rock You” or “Billy Elliot.”
A.J. Grant, head of the Department of English Studies and Communication Skills, will lead the team to London. In 2003, Grant taught Study of Rhetoric to RMU students at Tec de Monterey in Cuernavaca, Mexico. His experience in overseas programs and his in-depth knowledge of London will be a great advantage to participating students.
The trip costs $1,850, which includes airfare (roundtrip from Pittsburgh), accommodation in the Wyndham Hotel, breakfasts, all local transportations, theater and museum tickets, Big Bus Tour of London, Thames River Cruise, trip to Bath, access to Regent’s American College campus facilities – computer lab, health club, etc. Scholarships are available to English Studies majors and minors.
