Dean Manna Helps Shape High School Business Curriculum

Moon Township, Pa. -- Dean R. Manna, head of Department of Marketing at Robert Morris University (RMU), has been appointed to the Occupational Advisory Committee for the Business, Finance and Information Technology Academy at Pittsburgh Carrick High School.

The academy is slated to become a city-wide magnet program in September 2009. The Occupational Advisory Committee will provide technical expertise including recommendations on curriculum and technology.

“One of my roles in this program is to promote different business curricula that can help this academy become a success,” said Manna.

Manna was invited to serve on the committee Ed McManus, the instructional leader of the Business Education Department at Pittsburgh Carrick High School. McManus, a former part-time faculty member at RMU, said Manna’s tenure as a business educator as well as his experience running a business make him ideally suited for the advisory committee. “We were looking for people with diverse backgrounds,” said McManus.

Manna has spent 35 years at RMU, 25 of it as a department head. He is an expert in sales, relationship marketing, supply chain management and entrepreneurship.
