Moon Township, Pa. – Four students and an alumnus from Robert Morris University (RMU) are appearing in the Pittsburgh Musical Theater production of Disney sensation “High School Musical,” which runs Jan. 29 through Feb. 8 at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District.
Alumnus David Toole ’08, a veteran of RMU Colonial Theatre and Pittsburgh Musical Theater, returns to the stage as lead character Troy Bolton. His co-stars include student Maria Mauti, who plays high school whiz kid Taylor. Mauti, who transferred to RMU from Point Park University, appeared in RMU’s fall production of “Aida.” “High School Musical” marks her professional debut. RMU students Patrick Cannon, Josh Morgan and Aaron Cook also appear in the show.
Ken Gargaro, assistant professor of communication at RMU, is the founding director of Pittsburgh Musical Theater.
“Any student at RMU who is interested in theater has the same opportunities as students at other local schools who major in theater. The partnership between RMU and the Pittsburgh Musical Theater continues to grow each year,” said Gargaro.
