In his new position, Frantz will act as the university’s chief enrollment officer, charged with developing and implementing recruitment strategies. He will oversee the offices of academic admissions and financial aid, and will take a lead role in enrollment marketing initiatives.

“We are pleased to have someone with Mike’s experience, ability and character as part of RMU’s senior leadership team,” said RMU President Gregory G. Dell’Omo. “We look forward to the leadership and vision he will bring to our recruitment efforts.”

Frantz, 45, comes to RMU from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he has been vice president of enrollment services. Frantz joined Wilkes University in 1998 as dean of enrollment services. Previously he worked at Buena Vista University in Iowa.

Frantz received bachelor's degrees in German and political science at Simpson College in Iowa and a master's degree in political science from the University of Iowa. He and his wife, Andrea, have a 17-year-old daughter, Hannah.

Frantz will report to RMU Provost David Jamison, the senior vice president for academic affairs, and will be a member of the president’s cabinet.

“Mike role as head of both admissions and financial aid will allow RMU to create a seamless enrollment process that is truly student-focused,” said Jamison. “Mike shares RMU’s mission of providing students with an affordable, engaging education that propels them to professional success.”
