The RMU minor in actuarial science is expressly designed for students to receive a comprehensive introduction to the actuarial profession as well as provide the requisite background for the first 1 1/2 professional Society of Actuary (SoA) examinations. Since the actuarial profession is examination driven, students can customize their undergraduate experience by earning an alternative major (e.g., economics, finance, accounting, marketing, information systems, or law) while complementing that degree with a solid introduction to the actuarial profession. Students interested in actuarial opportunities are encouraged to enroll in Math 2070 (calculus) as soon as possible.
