Standardized Comprehensive Exit Examination (HESI) for Pre-licensure Baccalaureate Program

 • The standardized comprehensive exit examination is a proctored exam that  tests the student's ability to critically analyze, organize and synthesize material learned over the total period of matriculation for the degree.

• Students are required to take this exit exam and to achieve a satisfactory score of 900 or higher in order to sit for the licensing exam (NCLEX).

• The comprehensive exit exam is given during the last semester of the senior year in NURS 4035 as a course requirement.

• Failure to achieve a satisfactory score of 900 will result in a delay in graduation.

• If the student achieves a 900 or higher on the first attempt on the comprehensive exit examination, the student is still required to take Version 2 of the comprehensive exit examination.

• The cost of any attempt after the first three (3) will be borne by the student.

• After remediation that is determined by the remediation coordinator, students will have additional attempts to take the comprehensive exit exam and achieve a 900 or higher. Please see chart below for details.

• Once a score of 900 is achieved on an Exit Exam, information regarding completion of the nursing education program will be submitted to the State Board of Nursing.  This submission is required for eligibility to take the licensing exam (NCLEX).
