Professional Staff 


The Office of Residence Life is the unit within the Division of Student Life that is responsible for the on-campus housing and residence life programs at the University.  The main office is located in Washington Residence Hall.  Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  During the academic year, the office hours are extended until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. 

Ronald Shidemantle
Director
The Director provides the overall management, administration, supervision, and vision for the Office of Residence Life.  He provides leadership in creating a residential program that supports the academic mission of the University and fosters the development of students.  Mr. Shidemantle develops strategic initiatives for the office, capital improvement goals, manages the office budget, and oversees staff and programming initiatives.  He serves as the liaison to the campus community and assists in establishing new initiatives for the office.

Anne Lahoda
Assistant Director
The Assistant Director is responsible for providing leadership with numerous key administrative services including the housing assignment and billing process.  She manages the process by which continuing and new students select rooms, the roommate selection process, and all billing through the University's integrated system.  Ms. Lahoda oversees the residential assessment initiatives, the on-call duty rotation program, and serves as a key member of various campus committees.  The Assistant Director works in conjunction with the Office of Facilities Management and the Office of Public Safety to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained living and learning environment.     

Charles Nash
Area Coordinator
- Washington & the Holiday Inn Housing Program
Mr. Nash is responsible for all educational, administrative, and supervisory responsibilities in Washington Residence Hall and the housing program at the Holiday Inn.  He maintains a living and learning environment where students may maximize their academic success and where the safety and welfare of all residents are promoted.  Mr. Nash's specific responsibilities include:  Resident Assistant staff supervision, student discipline, facilities maintenance, educational programming, room occupancy/changes, on-call duty rotation, and numerous project areas as assigned.  Mr. Nash serves as one of the Campus Advisors to the RMU Interfraternity Council and oversees all perimter housing initiatives.

Mindy Somerville
Area Coordinator - Braddock/Hamilton/Salem
Ms. Somerville is responsible for all educational, administrative, and supervisory responsibilities in Braddock, Hamilton, & Salem Residence Halls.  She maintains a living and learning environment where students may maximize their academic success and where the safety and welfare of all residents are promoted.  Ms. Somerville's specific responsiblities include:  Resident Assistant staff supervision, student discipline, facilities maintenance, educational programming, room occupancy/changes, on-call duty rotation, and numerous project areas assigned.  Ms. Somerville serves as the Campus Advisor to the RMU Residence Hall Association and oversees the Alcohol 101 & 102 Educational Seminars.

Erik Stein
Area Coordinator - Adams/Hancock/Madison/Marshall/Monroe
The Area Coordinator (AC) is responsible for all administrative, educational, and supervisory responsibilities in Adams, Hancock, Madison, Marshall, & Monroe Residence Halls.  He maintains a living environment where students may maximize their academic success and where the safety and welfare of all residents are promoted.  Mr. Stein's specific responsibilities include:  Resident Assistant staff supervision, student discipline, facilities maintenance, educational programming, room occupancy/changes, on-call duty rotation, and numerous project areas as assigned.  Mr. Stein serves as the Residence Life Advisor to the Honor's College & Early Success Program (ESP) Special Purpose Housing programs.

Ashley Williams
Area Coordinator - Concord/Lexington/Gallatin/Ross
Ms. Williams is responsible for all educational, administrative, and supervisory responsibilities in Concord, Lexington, Gallatin, & Ross Residence Halls.  She maintains a living and learning environment where students can maximize their academic success and where the safety and welfare of all residents are promoted.  Ms. Williams specific responsibilities include:  Resident Assistant staff supervision, student discipline, facilities maintenance, educational programming, room occupancy/changes, on-call duty rotation, and numerous project areas as assigned.  Ms. Williams serves as one of the Campus Advisors to the RMU Interfraternity Council and oversees weekend programming initiatives.

Lindsay Kelley
Coordinator

The Coordinator is responsible for numerous aspects of RMU housing operations.  She supports various departmental processes including room selection, room change, billing, damage charges, the summer housing program, and opening and closing of the residence halls.  The Coordinator serves as the administrative assistant and Office Manager for the Office of Residence Life, supervises student aids, and works to create an environment conducive to academic excellence, personal developement, and community within the living and learning environment.
