ARTM2452 - Television Writing

Fall 2018

The primary objective of this course is to learn how to write series television scripts. Each step in the television writing process will be broken down and analyzed-from pitching to drafting. Each step will be applied to the development of your own particular script. Students will learn the basic theory and formal aspects of story structure, character development, the use of conflict and dialogue. By the end of the semester each student will complete a specific script for a current drama or situation comedy, leaving the class with sample scripts for submission to agents and producers.
