Course Details
Section "B" of this course is connected to the Morocco, Spain and England trip to run from May 5th to May 22nd. Students who plan to participate in the trip are required to take the course; students may take the course and not go on the trip. The cost of the trip is in addition to tuition. The course will be taught as a combination of online and in class meetings. There are regularly scheduled class meeting times as well as significant online interaction and assignments. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes.

Course Description
Everyone is different and everyone is the same on some levels. Students will examine various social constructions of diversity, and learn what drives people toward an "Us" and "Them" approach to the world. The course focuses on dimensions of diversity, as well as the human desire for status and significance, to learn how people can work productively with others, opening themselves to understanding individual, group, and organizational identities and ways of accomplishing goals.
