Course Description
This seminar course focuses upon the exploration and application of family health theories to advanced practice nursing in primary care. The course addresses developmental stages of the family, family and community assessment, assessment of the impact of acute and/or chronic illness on the family and understanding health problems from a cultural perspective. Trends in health care policy and health insurance will be addressed. Family-centered research will be utilized to plan health care interventions.
