Course Details

This course prepares students to write and report in a converged media world with an emphasis on constructing short- and long-form multimedia reports in an international environment. The course considers issues such as accuracy, credibility, ethics, research and sourcing. Assignments will simulate professional media activities and build on information gathering techniques and news writing/reporting skills learned in other classes. Students who register for the course are required to go on the 2014 study trip to Sneem, County Kerry, Ireland May 11-May 25, 2014. In preparation for the trip, the course will meet in Spring 2014, exact dates to be announced by the professor. Costs for airfare, housing, etc. are in addition to tuition. Prerequisites: JRNL2015 and JRNL2035 or concurrent
