Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. Course Description

Students in this course will discuss the variety of programming options available to children and families, investigate social skills programs, explore communication approaches, and research evidence-based interventions for students with ASD. Students will complete an intervention assessment tool and create specially designed instruction for a student on the spectrum. Finally, students in this course will synthesize this information and reflect on issues as they apply to families and individuals on the spectrum throughout their life. Pre-requisites: SPED6055
