The honors seminar will examine the many controversial issues regarding sport in American society. A number of topics are covered including youth sports, high school and college sports, as well as professional /spectator sports. Crime and deviance in sports is examined, along with economic, gender, and media issues. The seminar will be discussion-oriented and will take an interdisciplinary approach to the subject-- economic, psychological, and sociological perspectives will be used.
