Course Description

This course introduces students to the field of career development counseling. The course focuses on theories of career development and gives students practical experience administering career assessment tests. The theories and the assessments will cover interest inventories, personality inventories, aptitude testing, and achievement testing. Career issues and crises across the lifespan and the career developmental needs of minorities, women, and other protected classes will be explored. By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of the field of career development counseling and practical experience in administering some of the common instruments used in the field.

Prerequisite: Admittance into MS in Counseling Psychology program.
