  • Five of RMU's club bowlers were awarded conference honors last week at the American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Sophomores Jonathan Kleer and Joshua Marks were selected for the AHIBC All-Conference Team, receiving 1st Team and 2nd Team honors respectively. Sophomore Kyle Wilkinson won 1st Team all-tournament honors at the 3rd event, and freshman Antonio Willar won a 2nd-team all-tournament honor at the same event. Freshman Colin Flanagan won 2nd team all-tournament honors at the 4th and final AHIBC event. 
  • RMU's Covestro Center for Community Engagement has released the latest edition of the Building Bridges newsletter. From corporate partnerships to volunteer spotlights and upcoming events, it's a great community resource.
  • For the latest on the global outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), go to rmu.edu/coronavirus. No known cases have been reported at RMU.

Personal Mention

  • Tim Hadfield, professor of media arts, is well represented in this quarter's issue of ArtPulse a magazine specializing in contemporary art. Hadfield has a review of "Community," an exhibition by Rebecca Louise Law, at the Toledo Museum of Art, and a review of Deborah Roberts' solo show at Stephen Friedman Gallery in London. He also contributed to the "Reading List" section as an invited critic.

  • March 12
    • As part of a grant the Religion & Spirituality Focal Group received, we are pleased to offer our final workshop for RMU employees on religious and spiritual diversity at RMU. Sponsored by the Interfaith Youth Corp, this 90-minute workshop explores trends in religious and spiritual diversity on campus, in higher education, and nationally. In addition, participants can learn about being more effective educators and staff in multi-faith settings as well as enjoy a free lunch alongside RMU colleagues.     • The Center for Veterans and Military Families is excited to host the region's TRICARE representative from 1 to 2 p.m. Faculty, staff, students, and/or family members who qualify for the program are highly encouraged to attend. TRICARE is the uniformed services health care program for active duty service members, active duty family members, National Guard and Reserve members and their family members, retirees and retiree family members, survivors, and certain former spouses worldwide. Please RSVP here.​​​​

    • The Women's Leadership and Mentorship Program would like to invite you to our Fifth Annual Women & Transformational Leadership Symposium, Keynote and Reception. The 2020 Symposium is an event focused on the advancement of women and systemic change to eliminate gender bias and inequity. The keynote and reception will take place at the UPMC Events Center.     • The Wellness Committee presents the RMU Health Fair on Thursday, April 2 from 10 am - 2 pm in the John Jay Gym. There will be raffle prizes, healthy & organic options, financial health, fitness information, and more! All are invited to attend and there is no cost.
  • April 5
    • RMU is partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to unite the campus community for its 6th annual Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. This special event raises awareness of suicide as a health issue, brings comfort to those in the campus community who have been impacted by a suicide loss, and helps to educate our young adults about mental health and how and when to seek help.
