“The Communication Department celebrates the numerous accomplishments of these students which is a result of their own tenacity and work ethic, led by the support and education from our faculty and staff.”

Students in the Department of Communication received plenty of accolades at the Student Excellence Awards this spring.

Three of the 13 RMU students to receive the university's 2018 Signature Leadership Award were communication majors: Megan DeArmit, Tabitha Ishman, and Zach Kaiser. The award recognizes students from the current graduating class who have demonstrated active participation in university life, leadership experience, scholarly and educational achievements, and a commitment to community service.

“These students are examples of the excellence that we see all the time in the communication department,” said Heather Pinson, professor of communication.

Also at the awards, Danielle and Michelle McGuire each received the Ambassador of Equality Award, and Carly Phillips was recognized for her work as a new student orientation leader.
