Military & Veterans Financial Aid

Please review the following Financial Aid information for Veterans at Robert Morris University.

At Robert Morris University, we recommend you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) regardless of the military benefits you are receiving.  If you qualify for state or federal grant funds, you may be eligible to receive those funds as a refund to assist with your personal expenses.

Filing the FAFSA is easy to complete:

  1. Apply for your FSA ID if needed online at fsaid.ed.gov
  2. Complete the FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov
  3. Be sure to apply for the academic year you plan to enroll.
  4. For the federal school code, please use 003359 for Robert Morris University.
  5. Once submitted, Robert Morris University will receive the information within two working days.

Once you have completed the FAFSA, you will receive an electronic Student Aid Report (SAR).  This confirms that you have successfully completed the FAFSA.  If your SAR indicates you have been selected for verification, your Financial Aid Counselor will email you the requested information that is needed.

A Financial Aid Award Letter and Financial Aid Shopping Sheet will be generated electronically for students to view through our online Financial Aid Portal.  The award letter will break down the aid you qualify for at the time we award your financial aid.

If you plan on borrowing Federal Direct Loans, you will need to complete a Master Promissory Note and an entrance counseling session.  Both processes can be completed online at: studentloans.gov

Additional information may be found at the RMU Veterans Center Resource Center.

The Financial Aid Office regularly attends trainings offered by Department of Education, PHEAA, NASFAA, PASFAA, Department of Military Affairs and have all completed the College Affordability Academy® offered at Robert Morris University.
