Robert Morris University Commissions its first Cadet as 2nd Lieutenant at ROTC Ceremony
 

Gary Paduana of Moon, PA was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant at Robert Morris University today, as part of the University's ROTC program.

"Robert Morris began its ROTC program in the spring of 2006 and has since attracted ten cadets to the program," said Captain Theresa Bodnar, Assistant Professor of Military Science at RMU. "Gary is the first cadet at RMU to be commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant.  We are very proud of his commitment to this program, our University and the United States of America."

During a ceremony held in the International Conference Room at the Sewell Center, an oath was administered by LTC John Bender, Professor of Military Science, commending Cadet Paduana for his training with the Army ROTC and commitment to serving the United States as an Army officer. In return, the Army will provide him a full-tuition scholarship and training.

ABOUT ROTC AT RMU
Army ROTC began at Robert Morris University in the spring of 2006 as a satellite school for the Panther Battalion at the University of Pittsburgh.  Presently, the Army ROTC curriculum is set up for general Military Science, offering commissions in all Army branches.
