Several special programs are available at RMU for students who aspire to positions of leadership and seek to challenge themselves and to gain the insights and guidance of professional mentors and of their peers.
A select program for 25 students each year that teaches leadership skills and provides opportunities that foster young women’s ability to contribute, lead, and engage in mentoring relationships.
Designed for highly motivated individuals who wish to foster their love of learning in challenging environments where they are surrounded by students who share their drive and determination.
Step-by-step assistance, with a dedicated advisor and self-paced learning modules, for motivated students in any major who excel academically and want to prepare for law school.
ELSAP at RMU provides high-performing students who desire to go to law school the opportunity to complete three years of undergraduate work at RMU followed by three years of law school.
Students who major in biology or environmental science can add a concentration in pre-med that will prepare them for admission to medical school upon graduation.

The Center for Innovative Teaching seeks to support the professional development of RMU faculty through a variety of programs and activities. Initiatives include a faculty mentoring program and a faculty advisor training program. The center also supports RMU faculty engagement in pedagogical research and presentation.
When RMU students attend The Washington Center for a full semester, they return more confident, more skilled, and better prepared for their professional futures.
