Communication Student Organizations

Advertising Club
Doing real work for real clients, the RMU Advertising Club could be described as an ad agency disguised as a club. The Advertising Club defines engaged learning by providing account and creative services for both RMU organizations and community clients. Open to all majors, club meetings consist of creative brainstorming and work sessions. From conception to execution, the RMU Advertising Club develops quality campaigns for clients that need them.

Lambda Pi Eta
Lambda Pi Eta, Communication Honor Society, is the official honor society of the National Communication Association. The Tau Sigma Chapter recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement as well as participation in community and collegiate service of RMU Communication majors. Eligible students are invited to be inducted into LPE in the fall of each academic year.

Society for College Journalists, Journalism Honor Society
This honor society recognizes leadership among students in media and journalism and focuses on community service, in particular First Amendment education. Members are invited to participate in the national organization’s annual student media contests and conferences such as the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Public Relations Club
Formed in 2009, RMU’s Public Relations Society is a group of aspiring practitioners who cultivate and maintain meaningful professional relationships within a corporate, non-profit and academic framework. This organization provides public relations service activities in the community and on campus. Our society members meet weekly to hear from professionals about the practice and changes within the field. Our robust fundraising activities promote attendance at the Public Relations Student Society of America's annual national conference.

Alpha Psi Omega, National Theatre Honor Fraternity
Membership is open to all RMU students, sophomore and above who are in Colonial Theatre productions and enjoy working in areas including acting, technical theatre, design, and stage management. Alpha Psi Omega members must have a 3.25 GPA and members of Alpha Psi Omega participate in fund raising to sponsor member's trips to the American College Theatre Festival and other theatre events.
