Military & Veterans Admissions Requirements

Robert Morris University wants to prepare you for the next phase of your career – either in the civilian world or as you advance in the military.

As a university that is big enough to matter, yet small enough to care, we provide personalized attention suited to the unique needs of veterans and their families, with all the opportunities that a big-city university has to offer. Gallup surveys have demonstrated that RMU alumni are more likely to be employed full-time, to be employed in their field of choice, and to enjoy more personal well-being than graduates of other colleges and university.

RMU is a military friendly school that participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program for veterans who have been awarded 100% tuition benefits under the Post 9/11 GI Bill®. The Yellow Ribbon Program closes the gap between your education benefits and the cost of RMU’s tuition. For veterans in undergraduate programs whose Post 911 GI Bill® is less than 100%, RMU has a Military Service Award to help offset a portion of the remaining tuition and fees.

The first step is to apply here before requesting your veterans benefits. If you have questions before you apply, please contact the Center for Veterans and Military Families. We will answer any question you have and help you leap any hurdles that get in your path.

Already accepted to Robert Morris?

If so, then it’s now time to apply for educational benefits with the VA. You can apply for VA education benefits by clicking here. There is also a toll-free VA Education Benefit phone number: (888) 442-4551.

The VA requires each veteran applying for VA Education Benefits be accepted to an approved degree program before initial certification of attendance can be sent to the VA. Once formal acceptance is approved, please schedule to meet with Christie McFadden, Benefits Specialist. Please have a copy of your DD 214/DD 215 available.

For those members who are using a DOD or state funding for educational benefits, please check with your ESO or Unit Educational Advisor.
