Course Description

In this course, students will significantly expand their repertoire of songs prepared for auditioning by adding new material from a variety of musical theatre and popular styles. They will increase their understanding of the transformational process of 'changing a musical statement into an confession of the heart' through the technique of text analysis as it relates to the musical phrase. The student will become skilled at musical auditions by submitting to mock auditions using new vocal material on a weekly basis, using proper audition preparation and execution at all times.
