This course satisfies part of the Communication Skills graduation requirement. This is a seven-week course with a clinical component. The clinical schedule varies per community agency.This section is Communication Skills intensive. Communication Skills I-V must be completed before taking this course.

Course Description
The focus of this course is to provide the student with a broad introduction to community health and the role of the nursing within this setting. Students will examine nursing knowledge, incorporating concepts of epidemiology, populations, levels of prevention, health promotion and health care systems. The health care needs of selected at-risk populations will be reviewed.
Prerequisites: COSK2220 or COSK2225, NURS3020, NURS3030, and NURS4020 or concurrent with NURS4020
