This practicum course builds directly on the knowledge base developed in the physical and psychiatric diagnosis courses but emphasizes a holistic perspective in the provision of comprehensive care for individuals experiencing acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. The focus is on utilization of evidence-based practice findings to plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic regimens of individuals experiencing acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. Psychological factors affecting common medical conditions will also be highlighted.
