CI446 - Advanced Database Mgmt Sys

Fall 1997

This course provides the student with an in-depth coverage of database technologies applied to the development of multiuser and distributed systems. Relational database structure is emphasized, and program design and development is addressed with embedded queries and report generation using host languages. Also examined are the effects of the following on database modeling, design, and implementation: referential integrity, concurrency control, transaction processing, and client/server architecture.
Prerequisite: CI436.
