FN340 - Investment Analysis

This course is a study of basic investment vehicles and the markets in which they trade. Investments covered include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and futures and option contracts. A major portion of the course is devoted to common stock with particular attention to three competing approaches to common stock analysis: fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and efficient market analysis. Also discussed are the distribution of securities to the public, the broker-client relationship, different types of orders investors can place with their broker, short-sales of securities, and margin accounts.
Prerequisites -- FN300, QS311 (or QS211), and CI112.
