QS311 - Statistics and Probability

Fall 1997

This course introduces the students to the application of statistical theory of science, education, and business. Emphasis is placed on statistical inference, but descriptive work is also considered. Problems of estimation, errors, and hypothesis testing are covered, and the theory of probability is discussed in detail. The following distributions are included: normal, hupergeometric, binomial, and Student's "t". (QS311 will be replace by QS211 Statistics I: Statistics and Probability in the Fall 1998 term.)
Prerequisite - QS101 or equivalent
