SPMG3425 - Sport Event Management
Fall 2011 Events are an important segment of the sport, hospitality, and recreation industries. This course will provide the student with a theoretical and applied approach to the planning and organization, management, and evaluation of events. Topics covered include; selecting the event venue, developing and managing the budget, marketing, scheduling and staffing, coordinating food, beverage and entertainment, and working with vendors and governing bodies. As part of the course, students will be involved with the planning and operation of a major athletic event. Prerequisites: 60 credits and SPMG3401 or MGMT3400 3 Credits |
