PHIL2000 - Introduction To Ethics

Fall 2013

This course examines major ethical theories and their implications. Students learn the basic concepts of utilitarian, deontological, and virtue ethics as well as modern responses to comprehensive ethical theories including ethical egoism and relativism. In addition to learning the basic concepts, students will analyze popular cultural narratives, including plays, news stories, advertisements, and movies as illustrations of the major ethical theories.
Prerequisite: 15 credits
