FINA1100 - Introduction To Finance

Spring 2024

This introductory finance course presents basic principles of finance and investment analysis which are essential to make personal investment decisions. The topics covered in this class include the structure of financial markets, various financial assets, and investment companies available to investors, and basics of retirement planning. The course is designed to include discussions of current issues in finance, such as cryptocurrencies and fintech. Throughout the semester, students will learn about careers in financial services and develop their own investment plan. To avoid overlap with FINA1010, students are strongly advised to take this course in the spring semester of their freshman year
