SDIN6055 - Introduction To Autism
Spring 2024
This course provides an overview of characteristics, assessment, and teaching strategies for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Current issues related to etiology, diagnosis, prevalence, prioritizing areas of teaching, environmental arrangements, and evidence based practices will be discussed. Special emphasis is placed on the use of Comprehensive Autism Assessment Tool and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Field experiences are embedded in this course. Co-Requisite: SPED0655
