WELL1030 - First Aid/Cpr

Spring 2024

This course is designed to prepare the student to perform basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), use an automatic external defibrillator (AED), and provide first aid in a variety of settings and situations. Basic anatomy and physiology information is provided. The course uses the American Heart Association Heartsaver course to certify the participants in CPR, AED, and First Aid. An additional $25.00 fee will be collected to pay for supplies, certification cards and resources. 1 Credits

This course is being offered as an introduction into the science of well-being (flourishing, thriving, and positivity). Students will explore the evidence of positive psychology and explore their own approaches to mindfulness, strengths, resiliency, a growth mindset, positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, achievement and vitality.
