Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. Course Description

The Training and Development course offers an in-depth study of training and development utilizing performance management as a basis. The course distinguishes between performance management and performance appraisals as a process of developing the individual employee. I t focuses on career development and long term succession planning for the organization. The course also covers the basic philosophies and methods of training and development. It will utilize real-life organizational issues in a project-oriented case analysis to enable students to apply the concepts to their business.
