Healthcare Policy, Law, and Politics - This course examines the impact of health policy and politics at national, state and local levels. Students will assess the policy influences on access to health care, including the cost and quality of this care. Students will identify the roles of government institutions, decision-making processes, and individuals that create health policy. Pertinent health policy will be analyzed in terms of variance between original policy intent, legislative and regulatory modifications. Case studies will bring these issues into focus through their impact on health services delivery. 3 Credits
