Colonials Bestowed Academic Plaudits From Horizon League

A total of 77 student-athletes across 10 sports were named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll Friday for the 2021 fall semester.

To be eligible for the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least one of the league's 19 sponsored sports during the most recent (or current) season, have completed three semesters (four quarters where applicable) and own a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale.

Leading the Colonials was the track & field and softball programs, which placed 13 student-athletes each on the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll. The RMU women's soccer program had 12 student-athletes earn a spot on the honor roll, followed by men's soccer (11), volleyball (10), women's basketball and men's golf (6 each) and men's cross country and men's basketball (1 each).

Four RMU student-athletes covering three sports named to the 2021 Horizon League Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester have maintained a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. Graduate student Nina Augustin of women's basketball is pursuing a Master of Science degree in data analytics and owns a perfect 4.00 GPA, while sophomore Kelvin Ramirez of men's soccer and sophomores Julia Ehrman and Jane Garver from softball also have compiled a 4.00 cumulative GPA. Ramirez is a psychology major, Ehrman is pursuing a degree in biology and Garver studies organizational leadership.

A total of 1,526 student-athletes earned Horizon League Academic Honor Roll distinction for the 2021 fall semester, with all 12 member institutions and 19 league sponsored sports represented. Women's soccer had the most student-athletes represented of any Horizon League sport, with 213 garnering the honor.
