- Media Arts major Brady Geyer's poster titled, "Queen: Typographic Translation of a Song," has been chosen for the Best of Category/College Student by judges at the Neographics: The Power of Print competition. Brady's work is based on Queen's music and was up against work from students coming from three states. The poster is designed in a neo-deconstructivist style. Brady's work will be featured at the opening awards ceremony, printed and distributed to designers, printers and ad agencies that are members of the Graphic Arts Association.
- Sophomore criminal justice major and cybersecurity minor Selene Cerankosky has been awarded a Newman Civic Fellowship by Campus Contact. She will go through a one-year fellowship experience for community-committed students to enhance her personal, professional, and civic development. Selene is president of Students for Life and of the Criminal Justice Honor Society at RMU. She is on the board of Genesis of Pittsburgh, an organization that assists young, pregnant women in need of housing and other vital services. This will be her second fellowship, having recently completed one with the Pennsylvania Center for Women and Politics.
- If you would like to volunteer at RMU's 94th Commencement Ceremony, the Office of the Provost is looking for assistance at both graduate and undergraduate ceremonies:
Commencement will be held for doctoral and master candidates on Friday, May 10 at 4 p.m. Volunteers will be needed at the UPMC Center at 1:00 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m. The majority of positions may leave after the candidates are seated.
Commencement will be held for undergraduate candidates on Saturday, May 11 at 9:30 a.m. Volunteers will be needed at the UPMC Center at 7:00 a.m. Doors open at 8 a.m. Email Rachel Farrell before April 15 if you'd like to volunteer.

- On April 6 the RMU Counseling Center is hosting their 3rd Out of the Darkness Walk in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The Out of the Darkness Walk raises awareness of a very important cause and provides educational materials for those who may need help or want to learn more. It is free to create a team and participate in the walk! There will be various activities offered throughout the event. For more information and to register yourself or a team, go to afsp.org/rmu.
- Media Arts Visiting Artist and Scholar Program invites you to a public lecture with photojournalist and documentary photographer Stephanie Strasburg, Tuesday, April 9, 12:15 p.m. in the SCIS Atrium, Wheatley Center. Stephanie Strasburg is a photojournalist with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette covering a wide range of assignments. She is drawn to explore the evolving landscape, economy, and sociopolitical conditions of the Rust Belt and is interested in developing new ways for stories to be found and shared in her community.
- The RMU Center for Cyber Research and Training is hosting the first Cyber-Tech Women's Symposium on April 12 at Yorktown Hall. Panelists and speakers include Summer Craze Fowler, chief security officer at Argo AI, and Amber Schroader, founder and CEO of the Paraben Corporation. Learn more and register here.
- Launching this summer is the new MS in Cyber Investigation and Intelligence graduate degree program. The Office of Graduate Admissions is hosting a lunch and learn for those considering an Integrated program or graduate degree. Stop by the Heritage Room in Nicholson Center between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m, on April 17. Grab a lunch and meet with the program coordinator, Frank Hartle, assistant professor of criminal justice. - Wellness Committee presents RMU Health Fair featuring raffle prizes, healthy & organic options, financial health, fitness information, and more! Friday, April 26 from 10 am - 2 pm at John Jay Gym. All are invited to attend and there is no cost.
