  • A total of 34 student-athletes from the RMU rowing team were named to the 2020-21 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Academic Honor Roll Thursday. To be eligible, a student-athlete must own a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher on a 4.00 scale, and freshmen are eligible. The 2021 MAAC Honor Roll covers 23 sponsored sports and includes both full-time and associate members. Eight of the student-athletes to be named to the 2021 MAAC Academic Honor Roll for the Colonials own a cumulative GPA of 3.95 or higher, including a pair with a perfect 4.00 GPA. Read more here.

  • For the ninth consecutive season, the RMU men’s golf program was recognized for its excellence in the classroom as it was bestowed with the Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). RMU posted a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.26 over the 2020-21 academic year, surpassing the Team Academic Award qualifying mark of 3.0. The Colonials were one of three Horizon League programs recognized by the GCAA, joining Purdue Fort Wayne and Youngstown State. Read more here.

  • The RMU volleyball team continued its longstanding tradition of academic success by receiving the 2021 Team Academic Award by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), joining 243 other NCAA Division I teams to earn the honor. The award, which began for the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. In all, AVCA recognized a total of 1,275 teams. RMU posted a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.837 in 2020-21, which earned the Colonials the Horizon League Raise Your Sights School Award for owning the best mark among the institution’s intercollegiate programs during the academic year.   • SAVE THE DATES!  The Career and Professional Development Center will be conducting both an in-person and virtual Career and Professional Engagement Fair in the Fall. The in-person fair will be held at the UPMC Event Center on September 21 from noon to 3 p.m. The virtual fair will be hosted virtually via Handshake on October 1 from noon to 3 p.m. More details to follow.
