Moon Township, PA — Robert Morris University (RMU) is thrilled to announce that alumnus Russ Olsen ('82) has been named the inaugural Athletics Executive in Residence for the Department of Athletics. This new role will leverage Olsen’s extensive experience in executive management and his long-standing commitment to the university to further enhance the student-athlete experience and advance the department's strategic goals.

“Russ is a true champion for Robert Morris University, and we couldn't be more excited to have him in this new capacity," said RMU President Michelle Patrick. "We are confident that his leadership and vision will be instrumental in the continued growth and success of RMU Athletics. His remarkable generosity continues to make a transformative impact on our students and campus." In his new role, Olsen will serve as an advisor, working closely with the Vice President/Director of Athletics, and the Chair of the Athletics Committee, RMU Board of Trustees. He will provide executive management guidance to the department of athletics, focusing on strategic planning, financial sustainability, fundraising, and alumni and community relations. His role will be to help align the department's vision with the university's mission and ensure long-term financial health.
