To mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks, RMU students, faculty, staff, and volunteers gathered on the lawn of the Edward A. Nicholson Center to place 2,977 American flags—each one representing an individual life lost on 9/11. Among the student volunteers were student veterans and ROTC cadets. 

The annual memorial creates a visible space on campus for reflection, ensuring the memory of the victims lives on through future generations.
